December 2025 | MOEF Press Releases | International Carbon Market Discussed at the International Carbon Market Investment Forum

As part of Korea’s ongoing commitment to carbon neutrality and global climate leadership, the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MOEF) organized the Global Carbon Market Investment Forum in Seoul, gathering more than 150 experts and stakeholders from international organizations, multilateral development banks, governments, and the private sector. The forum served as a dynamic platform for MOEF to introduce innovative strategies for enhancing the credibility and transparency of international carbon markets, with a particular focus on advancing the Global Voluntary Carbon Market (GVCM) and integrating cutting-edge digital and AI-driven MRV (Measurement, Reporting, and Verification) technologies.

Throughout the event, participants engaged in lively discussions and knowledge sharing on ways to foster trust, mobilize private investment, and support the development of robust carbon reduction projects. By facilitating international collaboration and showcasing Korea’s proactive role, MOEF is helping to shape the future of sustainable and credible carbon trading systems. These efforts reinforce Korea’s position as a key contributor to global climate action and the realization of a low-carbon, sustainable future.
